The Katy Earrings

When you think of Miami, what comes to mind? The ocean, the beach, the crazy night clubs? Probably all of the above. One of my best friends is now a Miami resident and in honor of her birth I created these earrings. The sea foam green chalcedony reminds me of the sea, the gold reminds me of the beach, and of course you can wear them out to a night club!

Happy Birthday Katy :)

The Heather Necklace

My friend Heather celebrated her birthday last month. In honor of her January birth, I originally gave her a pair of garnet earrings, her birthstone. Silly me, I forgot her ears aren't pierced. So I crafted this garnet necklace instead just for her.
Three round garnets on gold filled chain.

When you think of a garnet, you probably think of a red stone right?. But did you know that garnets can come in almost every color? (There seems to be a debate on the internet over the existence of a blue garnet.) Garnets in a purplish red are called rhodolite, orange, cinnamon, or pinkish garnets are hessonite, and tsavorite, uvarovite, and demantoid are all green varieties. There's your gemstone fact for the day. :)

Winter Blues

One of the reasons I love Dallas is the mild winters. Recently, it feels as though it has been less mild and more cold and unpredictable. I know it's not as bad as up north, but I just don't have the wardrobe for this type of weather.

Luckily, these earrings work in cold or warm weather.

These moss aquamarine stones are gorgeous! Here are some more photos:

Welcome to my Jewelry Blog!

It's a cold February evening in Dallas, Texas, so what better to do than finally post to my jewelry blog?

In the coming posts, I will be bringing you photos and information about the jewelry I have currently been making.

Stay warm out there.
